The goal of our project is the creation of a portable diagnostic kit for the detection and quantification of specific Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) from skin sebum. Those compounds have been associated with Parkinson’s Disease (PD), with evidence pointing to their change in concentration occurring long before the evident onset of the disease. The alternative way to measure these compounds would be a GC/MS machine, with obvious drawbacks.
私たちのプロジェクトの目標は、皮脂からの特定の揮発性有機化合物（VOCs）の検出と定量化を可能にする携帯型診断キットの作成です。これらの化合物はパーキンソン病（PD）と関連しており、疾患の明白な発症よりもずっと前にその濃度が変化するという証拠が示されています。これらの化合物を測定する別の方法はGC/MS機械であるが、明らかな欠点が存在します。
