Cambridge # B.Max # Cambridge is working on a protective B. subtilis biofilm that can colonise surfaces and resist invasion by pathogenic bacteria. We aim to apply our biofilm in animal farms to reduce pathogen load, so that preventative antimicrobial use in agriculture can be reduced. By over-expressing biofilm-related genes and knocking out sporulation, we created a biofilm that can resist foreign invasion.
