IISER-Pune-India # Producing Jatropha-oil based sustainable aviation fuel using Yarrowia lipolytica # We aim to produce sustainable aviation fuel in the model oleaginous yeast Yarrowia lipolytica. We cloned the thioesterases JcFATA and JcFATB from Jatropha curcas heterologously into the yeast to alter its fatty acid profile to emulate the composition of Jatropha seeds.
