Barcelona-UB # AlgaGenix # Water pollution due to nitrates in Catalonia is taking a major toll in the water availability of the region. Our project, AlgaGenix, is genetically enhancing the model microalgae Chlamydomonas reinhardtii so it absorbs more nitrates and transforms them into cytokinins, an organic phytohormone.
