Our current project is called “St(r)ep by St(r)ep”. Streptomyces are a type of bacteria that are very important for human health, as they produce almost half of all the antibiotics used today, but much of their potential is not exploited because the genes responsible for producing these compounds are encrypted in their DNA.
私たちの現在のプロジェクトは「St(r)ep by St(r)ep」という名称です。ストレプトマイセスは、今日使用されている抗生物質のほぼ半分を生産するという、人間の健康に非常に重要なバクテリアの一種です。しかし、これらの化合物を生産するための遺伝子がそのDNAに暗号化されているため、その潜在能力の多くが未だに活用されていません。
